Men's Layering Guide: Base, Mid, Outer

· Maverre Maison

Good layering isn't about piling things on. It's a simple system: a base, a mid-layer, and an outer. Get the three talking to each other and you're set for the whole season.

1. The base

Start close to the body with something lightweight. The Bennett Sleeve is a slim long-sleeve that sits under a knit without adding bulk — the quiet foundation of the outfit.

2. The mid-layer

This is where knitwear does the work. The Alpine Crewneck layers cleanly over the base; The Quarter-Zip Knit adds a collar-framing mock neck; and The Crewneck Knit brings texture for relaxed days.

3. The outer

Finish with a clean top layer. The Bomber Jacket — matte finish, tonal ribbing, no badges — closes the outfit with a deliberate line. Ground it with The Classic Leather Boots.

The one rule

Keep tones neutral and close in value so the layers read as one considered look, not three competing pieces. Explore knitwear and outerwear to build your system.
