What's Actually in Your Maverre Pieces: A Fabric Guide

Cotton trousers: the everyday workhorses

If a trouser needs to go from desk to weekend without complaint, it's usually cotton. The Mercer Trousers are cut from a slim tapered cotton for a clean, structured line, while The Venture Cargo Trousers use a heavier cotton in a relaxed fit built for utility rather than tailoring. The Cotton Slim Trousers with Pockets sit between the two — a slimmer cut with the same natural-fibre comfort. Cotton breathes, softens with wear, and takes a crease well, which is why it does most of the heavy lifting across the trouser range.

Polyester tailoring and easy-care layers

The Executive Trousers are a straight-leg polyester business trouser — polyester holds a sharp line and resists wrinkling far better than cotton, which is exactly what a trouser meant for daily office wear needs. The same logic applies to The Velvet Shirt, a velvet-feel polyester with a texture that reads more elevated than the fabric cost, and The Noelle Pullover, a wrinkle-resistant polyester knit built to travel well. None of these are marketed as natural fibre, and we'd rather say so plainly than let a texture speak for itself.

Acrylic and jacquard: where the knitwear sits

Maverre's knitwear is not wool. The Alpine Crewneck is a lightweight acrylic knit, slim-fit and fine-gauge, while The Crewneck Knit uses a textured jacquard construction for more visual depth. Acrylic is a practical choice for everyday knitwear — lighter than wool, machine-washable, and won't trigger a wool sensitivity, though it won't insulate quite as well in genuinely cold weather. If you need the warmest possible layer, treat these as a mid-layer rather than a replacement for outerwear.

Leather-look, not leather

Every "leather" piece at Maverre — The Classic Leather Boots, The Business Loafers, The Mason Cap, and The Monroe Blazer — is a leather-look faux finish, not genuine hide. It's a deliberate choice: a consistent, cruelty-free material that's easier to care for than real leather, at a price point that stays honest. Wipe clean rather than condition, and keep it away from prolonged heat.

Stretch denim, across the board

Every jean and skort in the range — The Aveline Jeans, The Verona Jeans, The Audrey Jeans, and The Valencia Skort — uses a lightweight denim with a touch of stretch rather than rigid cotton denim. That's what lets a high-rise or skinny cut stay comfortable through a full day rather than just looking good for the first hour.

Where to check the exact composition

This guide covers the general fabric families across the range, not the fibre percentage on any single piece. For exact composition and care instructions, check the Fiber & Care panel on each product page before you buy — it's the most accurate source, and we'd rather point you there than guess.
