Regular Fit vs Relaxed Fit: What's the Difference?

· Maverre Maison

"Regular" and "relaxed" get used loosely, which makes buying online harder than it needs to be. Here's what each actually means and how to choose.

Regular fit

Regular leaves a little room through the chest and waist without being baggy — the forgiving, safe default that suits most builds. It layers well and reads neat. The Crewneck Knit is a good example of a clean regular fit.

Relaxed fit

Relaxed adds more room throughout for an easy, casual line and maximum comfort — think weekend and downtime. It's about ease of movement rather than a sharp silhouette.

And where does slim sit?

Slim follows the body more closely for a modern, defined line — sharper and better for layering under a jacket. The Alpine Crewneck is cut slim for exactly that.

How to choose

  • Want one safe default? Regular fit.
  • Prioritise comfort and ease? Relaxed.
  • Want a sharp, layered look? Slim.

Every Maverre piece lists its fit on the product page and is cut true to size in S–3XL, with free 30-day exchanges if you'd like to try the other. Browse knitwear and trousers.
